We've had a Boykin Spaniel for 4 years now, which we purchased from a good breeder as a companion for our two elementary-age kids and our cat.  Although great with adults, kids and cats, Hershey has always been high strung, anxious, eager to please but extremely hyperactive. Nobody would volunteer to walk her because of her tendency to drag people along and bark at any and all dogs we saw.  Experts recommended either giving her away to a household with other dogs or getting her an active Canine companion and after much research, we added an Aussie puppy, Appa, to the household.  We worried Appa might learn some of Hershey's bad habits. At this time, we heard about Ms. Amanda at Calm, Confident Canine and decided to (literally!) drag Hershey over to her to train. We were at first surprised that, unlike most trainers who either trained at their home/center or came to your home, Ms. Amanda preferred a different location each time- a green belt trail, a farmer's market or a pedestrian filled sidewalk. Within a session or two, we noticed a vast improvement in Hershey's demeanor and self-confidence. Ms. Amanda's refusal to give in to her hyperactivity and her gentle yet firm approach and useful tips for us humans were certainly panning out. We also started taking the new puppy over for basic training so we could start her off on the right foot. Today, Hershey has gone from being on everyone's naughty list to being quite the favorite of the household. Her sweet attitude towards the puppy, her boundless energy and newfound calmness make her a great pet and Ms. Amanda has become quite a legend in our family's opinion. I would not hesitate to give Calm Confident Canine five stars for what they do and would strongly recommend trying them out for your pet training needs.
